If one had followed the spin by Politicians and the Media the few months leading up to the referendum, one would have been convinced that the 'Remain' side would win by a few percentage points, but that spin obviously did not work. So, what happened?
A good friend of ours that we have known for many years left the UK for Canada, when it decided to join the European Economic Community or the Common Market on January 1, 1973, as he foresaw dark days ahead for the UK and Europe. In his view, the decision by the UK to join the EU was driven by the rich, Politicians and the Financial Community (Banks), but would not show any benefits for the ordinary folks. I grew up in Holland and immigrated to Canada in 1967. We have taken numerous trips back to Holland and our last trip to Holland and Belgium was in 2015. The people in Holland, Belgium, etc. were of the same opinion and following the news, since the UK referendum, it is our view that the decision by the people in the UK will eventually have a profound effect on the decline and the break-up of the EU and Western Europe, as other countries will decide to depart as well.

We have followed the stories by the media in North America, but they do not tell you the whole story and the real reasons for the decision by the people of the UK. Like the good friend of ours, he informed us that the real reasons were the government policies on Immigration (refugees) and the Islamization of Europe. Doing a little research confirms his views and that of the people in the UK.
On January 28, 2016, Swedish authorities announced that they have asked police and the country's migration agency to prepare expulsions of up to 80,000 refugees and migrants.
